Reading Nooks by Alejandro N. Marrero 2/23/2020

I‘d love to live in a library
A place holding stories all imaginary
Where no one is allowed to yell
It would be quiet and full of tales

I’d read all the books
Though not any of the ones that spook.
Everywhere glanced there be stacks of well bound knowledge
My private, quiet, contemplative and free college

I’d study books about science and fantasy
Even new age ones about hidden mysteries
Some texts by Buddhist monks and self-help teachings
My library so quiet no one would be listening

I’d own this library you see
It would be refuge and a dream for me
I’d never open its doors to many
For bookshops barely ever make money

I’d simply retire to my fate
Where silence and knowledge awaits
I’d find solace from the hectic days of then and now
I’d be happy, quiet and never down.

Books are beautiful you see
They’re written by people like you and me
Authors that paint with a pen
Writing stories until the very end

One day I’ll grow old
Life will be simple and not too bold
I’ll have a bunch of reading nooks
Hopefully even napping between the books

I’d simply retire to the wise fates
Where silence and knowledge always awaits
I’d find solace from the hectic days of then and now
I’d be happy, quiet and never down.

Surrounded by books I’d be free.
