I planted some bamboos of different varieties last year and this year they’re sprouting up thick shoots! Here’s some picture of a variety of bamboo called Robert Young that has a yellow cane with intermittent green striping as it develops. The shoots are now about an inch thick and they will most likely reach heights of 9-15 feet before they open and leaf. They grow right now at about 3 inches per day. Once they pass two feet they can grow about 6-12 inches a day. Water is important for them to truly grow rapid during this time. So gratefully I keep watering them and it seems more shoots though smaller in thickness appear every day I’m so excited. Gardening is my happy therapeutic thing.
